ADVICS North America today announced
a contract award from General Motors for the supply and integration of
an advanced brake system for the new Hummer H3 model GM vehicle. Under
the terms of the award, ADVICS will supply the full brake system including:
Actuation, Foundation Sub-Systems, and Park Brakes, along with Anti-lock
Braking, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control system.
This is ADVICS' first full brake system award from General Motors
and an important milestone for ADVICS North America to support their
expansion of business in North America. In addition, ADVICS North
America, Inc. was also recently awarded the Electronic Stability
Control and Hydraulic Brake Actuation integrated system for another
future GM vehicle. ADVICS North America, Inc., which was founded
in January 2002, is a subsidiary of ADVICS Company Ltd. (Japan).
ADVICS Co. Ltd. was created for the Sales and Development of Brake
Systems. This was accomplished by joining these resources from Aisin
Seiki, Denso and Sumitomo Electric Industries. ADVICS plans to achieve
$2.5B in sales in 2005 with $500M in North America. Dr. Haruhiko
Saito, President, ADVICS, Co. Ltd., said: "It is our goal to support
