ADVICS Co., Ltd. (Head Quarters: Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Dr. Haruhiko Saito; hereinafter referred to as "ADVICS") has developed the world's smallest and lightest*1 ESC*2 modulator.
The new ESC modulator "ADS-V2P" is installed as standard equipment on the new iQ (introduced on October 15, 2008) by the TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION, contributing to the highest level of safety performance in the world.
The world's smallest and lightest ESC modulator "ADS-V2P" has been realized by optimization and consolidation of its design, thereby improving fuel consumption and reduction of CO2 emissions. In view of performance, reduction in operating noise and improvement of brake response are achieved by modifying driving system of the control valve and the motor.
In the United States, vehicles by the model year 2012 weighting 4.5 tons or less will be required to be equipped with ESC, which is regarded as a safety technique for reducing traffic accidents. In addition, equipping all vehicles with ESC as standard is also under consideration in Europe.
ADVICS will promote the spread of ESC and contribute to building safe and comfortable motorized society as a brake system supplier to provide "reliability" to customers.
